Flexible, Sensorized Glove—A Summary of FlexTech Project FT19-19-187
The purpose of this project was to develop a flexible, stretchable ink and substrate system to allow the creation of sensorized glove. The glove is characterized by a printed matrix of force sensing cells that cover as much of the ventral side of the hand as possible. Previous research had identified Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) as a possible candidate for the binder system for the required family of inks. Research and development led to the creation of a TPU based, flexible conductive, and pressure sensitive ink system and a compatible and flexible substrate that allowed the creation of the desired flexible, stretchable force-sensing resistor matrix.
