Nigel Smith, PhD

Nigel Smith is a Fellow at Onto Innovation and has held various technical roles in Onto Innovation and its predecessor companies since 1986. Nigel led the overlay Engineering team at Bio-Rad Micromeasurements and was Chief Technologist in the Asia-Pacific region for Accent Optical Technologies. Nigel became Overlay Product Manager when Nanometrics acquired Accent in 2006, moving to the USA in 2010 to focus on the development of new technologies. Nigel holds a PhD in Physics from Oxford University and has over 25 patents related to semiconductor metrology equipment.
